SpotCheck – Website Terms and Conditions

These website terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the SpotCheck website at https://spotcheck.uk and any associated online portals (together, the “Site”) operated by Aesthetk Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms; if you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

About SpotCheck

  • SpotCheck is a GP and dermatology advisory service designed exclusively for cosmetic, aesthetic and advanced skin practitioners using electrosurgery or electrolysis, lasers, cryotherapy etc (“Practitioners”).
  • The service provides written clinical advice and lesion assessments to support your own treatment decisions and insurance requirements; it does not replace your independent clinical judgement or duty of care to your clients.

Eligibility and Registration

  • The SpotCheck service is available only to Practitioners who:
    • hold appropriate professional training and qualifications;
    • maintain adequate professional indemnity and treatment risk insurance; and
    • practice within the scope of their competence and local regulations.
  •  When registering, you must provide accurate, complete information and keep it up to date; you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login details and for all activity under your account.

Nature of the Service

  • SpotCheck provides:
    • GP advice on client medical history and treatment suitability;
    • Dermatology advice on the likely nature of lesions/blemishes and their suitability for cosmetic procedures; and
    • Combined GP and dermatology advice where requested.
  • Advice is based on the information and images you submit; incomplete, poor‑quality or inaccurate information may limit the reliability of the opinion provided.
  • All reports are advisory only; the Practitioner remains fully responsible for assessing the client in person, obtaining informed consent, and deciding whether to proceed with treatment.

Not for Patients or Emergencies

  • SpotCheck does not provide a service directly to patients, nor does it provide diagnosis, treatment or prescriptions to members of the public through this Site.
  • The service is not suitable for urgent or emergency problems; Practitioners must direct any suspected serious, evolving or malignant condition to appropriate urgent or specialist care pathways.

Submitting Cases and Reports

  • Current pricing for single checks and bundle discounts (e.g. reductions for 10, 10–50, 50–100 and 100+ checks) is displayed on the Site or in our latest marketing materials; we may update prices at any time before you place an order.
  • All fees are payable in advance or in accordance with the payment terms agreed with you; SpotCheck has no obligation to review a case until payment has been received or verified.
  • Bundle credits are non‑transferable, may be subject to an expiry date and may only be used by the named account holder; unused credits may be forfeited after the expiry date, unless otherwise required by law.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • Once a case has been submitted and a clinician has started reviewing it, fees are normally non‑refundable, even if you choose not to proceed with treatment.
  • If SpotCheck is unable to provide an opinion (for example, because the lesion cannot be assessed from the images or is clearly inappropriate for remote advice), we may, at our discretion, offer a refund or credit for another case.

Your Responsibilities as Practitioner

  • You remain responsible for:
    • verifying your client’s identity and medical history;
    • clinical examination in person and appropriate safety checks before treatment;
    • explaining to your client the nature and limitations of any SpotCheck opinion; and
    • complying with all applicable laws, professional standards, insurance conditions and local policies.
  •  You must not present SpotCheck opinions as a substitute for a face‑to‑face medical consultation or as a guarantee that a lesion is benign or that a treatment is risk‑free.

Clinical Disclaimers

  • Advice is given in good faith by UK‑registered GPs and dermatology specialists, based on the information provided, but no opinion can be 100% certain without in‑person assessment, dermoscopy and/or biopsy.
  • SpotCheck does not accept liability for outcomes where:
    • information or images provided were incomplete, misleading or of inadequate quality;
    • our advice was not followed, was misinterpreted, or was used outside its intended context; or
    • treatment was carried out beyond the Practitioner’s competence or contrary to applicable guidance or insurance requirements.

Limitation of Liability

  • Subject to the above, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and representations and shall not be liable for:
    • indirect or consequential loss;
    • loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings; or
    • any loss arising from your failure to comply with these Terms or with your own professional and regulatory obligations.
  •  Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or any SpotCheck report shall be limited to the total fees paid by you for the specific case to which the claim relates.
